Acubriefs was established by a grant from the Medical Acupuncture Research Foundation (MARF). Its purpose is to make available the most comprehensive database of references on acupuncture in the English language. References on acupuncture in languages other than English will be incorporated contingent on time and resources. Over the past several years abstracts from the leading Chinese journals have been translated into English and are available through our database.

ATKM, short for "All That Korean Medicine", is an English club, based in Kyung Hee University of Korean Medical School. Geogrphically, ATKM's main base of operations rests within the school complex, which is locaed in Seoul, Korea. The more obvious goal of ATKM is to spread KM all over the world. To do that, we will be the WINDOW for the people of the world, so that anyone can come and check KM out. Furthermore, we will be the DOOR for the KM students in Korea, so that they can enter the world medical field and spread KM. However, the ultimate goal of ATKM is much greater. By spreading KM all over the world, we hope to help those people in need, such as those suffering from chronic illness, which is not so easily cured by Western Medicine. With the spread of KM, even those people in poor countries who can't afford ridiculously expensive Western Medicine treatments will be able to maintain their health.

The European Shiatsu School has its headquarters in Wiltshire, England, but offers courses in a number of European countries. Shiatsu is both a form of physical manipulation and a means towards the growth of body, mind and spirit, combining a finely tuned intuition, understanding of oriental diagnosis, posture and breathing. The school offers practitioner training, postgraduate training, teacher training and a variety of other courses.

The Shiatsu School of Canada is located on College Street in Toronto, ON. It offers educational programmes in shiatsu (at both the career level and the general interest level) and graduate level courses in acupuncture (both Chinese and Japanese theories and techniques) for shiatsu therapists. The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) was established in the U.S. in 1982 to promote nationally recognized standards of competence and safety in acupuncture and Oriental medicine through the certification of practitioners. Their website offers explanations of the benefits of certification programmes, details of their certification process, aand information about the states (currently 32 of them, plus the District of Columbia) which require practitioners to be licensed.
